JKSEC organises daylong conclave “The Futuristic Vision For Education In J&K”

Srinagar : Jammu and Kashmir State Education Council (JKSEC), one of the important councils of Private Schools’ Association of Jammu and Kashmir (PSAJK) Wednesday organised a day-long education conclave on “The Futuristic Vision For Education In J&K”.

Prof Mehraj ud Din Vice Chancellor CUK was the Chief Guest on the occasion while as Prof Javed Musarrat Vice Chancellor BGSBS University Presided over the function. Senior Counsel Adv Zaffar A Shah and Dr M S Khuroo were guests of honour. Others distinguished experts who spoke on the occasion included Prof Emeritus Dr M.A Sofi, Dr. Fayaz Ahmad Nikka, Registrar CUK, Dr.Iqbal Qureshi Registrar & Head of Spiritual Studies Islamic University Awantipora, Prof. Tibat Baqal, Dean School of Social Sciences, Cluster University Srinagar, Prof. Farooq Ahmad Masoodi, Director MERC University of Kashmir, Prof. Lily Want, Head Department of English University of Kashmir, Prof. Farooq Ahmad Mir, Controller Examinations University of Kashmir, Prof. Salahuddin Tak, Arabic Department University of Kashmir, Prof. Nazir Malik, Department of Urdu CUK, Prof. Wali Mohammad Shah, Dean School of Physical Sciences CUK, Prof. Jahangir Iqbal Head Department of Persian University of Kashmir, Prof Wali Mohammad Shah Deen Physical Sciences CUK Prof Muzaffar Ahmad Nadvi, Prof. Zuhra Afzal, Prof. Hamid Naseem Rafiabadi Convenor J&K State Education Council (JKSEC), Manzoor Ahmad Wangnoo, Chairman Moral Education, Environment ,Relief Council, G N Var, Chairman Private Schools’ Association (PSAJK), inter alia. A number of reputed school heads were present on the occasion.
The conclave had a lively discussion on the current and future education sector of the State. Experts pitched in with their ideas for the betterment of the vibrant sector. Various issues were raised during the conference and their possible solutions were also discussed. The conclave stressed on the quality education and how to make the students to be able to compete to the challenges of 21st century. The speakers also advocated a fair degree of autonomy to private educational institutes so that they can further excel in the field and provide world class education to local children.

The experts said that a permanent Education Council consisting of government officials, educational experts and representatives of private schools is need of the hour. It should be headed by an educationist and its mission should be to guide the state to strengthen its education sector. The speakers said that no interference in the working of any educational sector, whether Government or private should be encouraged and education should be purely politics-neutral

The speakers said that all the living nations value education and think about the future of their communities because it is only through education that we live for all times to come. “If we have such educational policies which are futuristic and progressive in nature and cater all the needs of mind body and soul of our community, then our next generations will be really doing the best performances in all walks of life,” they said.

Terming class rooms as the real arena where the future of next generations is shaped, the speakers said that if we are able to make the policies for education in all its dimensions, technical, moral, scientific, vocational, physical and professional, then the future of our new generations is safe and secure and a balanced personality comes to fore as a mature citizen and a good human being. “The values imparted in school and educational institutions in the impressionable age endure till eternity through the progeny and the generations,” the speakers said.

The topics that came up for discussion included framed modern curriculum, value-based education, future of various subjects, igniting creativity among children, training the trainers etc.

PSAJK is a premier association of more than 2500 private schools educating more than 7 Lakh students, working from last 10 years for ensuring Quality Education to be imparted throughout State and safeguard its members from any unwanted interference in the achievement of its goal of check dispersal of quality education. PSAJK feels warm and humbled to establish ties and strengthen them with various educational Associations and higher academic institutions for elevating scholarly interaction, cultural interchange, cooperative research and other forms of academic collaborations.
