Jammu/April,27: Chairman, Legislative Council, Haji Anayat Ali called on the Chief Minister, Mehbooba Mufti here Thursday and discussed several developmental issues of Kargil district with her.
Haji Anayat Ali sought early start of work on the Zojila tunnel on Srinagar-Kargil road and operationalisation of Kargil airport to start regular flights from there.
The Chief Minister informed the Legislative Council Chairman that she is already pursuing with the Centre that formalities for the start of work on the tunnel project be expedited so that work can start there at the earliest.
Mehbooba Mufti informed Haji Anayat that she has taken up with Civil Aviation Ministry exploring the possibility of flying small passenger aircrafts from Kargil till the airport is fully functional there.
Haji Anayat also sought construction of a bridge at Fosaythang for the easy movement of the people of the catchment areas. He also sought upgradation of primary, middle and model schools at Apatay village in view of the increasing number of students.
The Chief Minister assured Haji Anayat of substantive action on the issues raised by him.
