DDC Shopian reviews dev works under Tribal Sub-Plan

Shopian : The District Development Commissioner Shopian, Dr. Owais Ahmed Friday reviewed the pace of progress on development works taken up under Special Central Assistance (SCA) to tribal sub-plan and Tribal Model Village development projects execution in the district here at mini secretariat Arhama Shopian.
On the occasion, DDC sought the detailed feedback of the ongoing development works of the Tribal Cluster Model Village (TCMV) including Chaki Mirzapora, Amshipora, Saidapora Payeen, Chaki Shamshipora and other works approved under special Central Assistant to Tribal sub-Plan.
The meeting was informed that Rs 2.43 crore has been spent on various developmental works under Special Central Assistance (SCA) to Tribal Sub-Plan (TSP) scheme in the district upto ending October 2018. The meeting was also informed that the directions given in the meeting have been implemented in letter and spirit.
DDC directed the concerned to arrange workshop there for creating awareness among the targeted beneficiaries. He also directed them to prioritize major works including road connectivity, bridges, Power Infrastructure, drinking water infrastructure and income generating units under Tribal Cluster Modal Village. These crucial projects are designated to provide basic communities visa-viz. roads, water and power supply enhanced healthcare infrastructure besides skill development to unemployed youth and generating self- employment avenues for tribal population.
He also urged the concerned officers to accelerate the pace of works being executed under Tribal Sub-Plan (TSP) and emphasized the need for continuous monitoring towards maintaining the quality works. He further added that there should be no delay in the execution and completion of works and to ensure achievement of predicted goals under this plan.
Among others, the meeting was attended by Additional Deputy Commissioner Shopian Mohammad Saleem, Chief Planning Officer, Executive Engineers of R&B, PDD, Irrigation, Chief Education Officer, Chief Agriculture Officer, Chief Horticulture Officer, District Sheep Husbandry Officer, Project Manager NRLM Shopian and other concerned officers and engineers.
