Mega Legal Services awareness camp held at G’bal

Ganderbal : Under the aegis of SLSA and as per the directions of Chief Justice, Justice Gita Mittal (patron in chief), J&K SLSA and under the leadership and guidance of Justice Alok Aradhe, Executive Chairman J&K State Legal Services Authority and Yash Pal Bourney, Member Secretary J&K SLSA, a Mega Legal Services Awareness Camp and Employment Fair was organized by District Legal Services Authority Ganderbal in collaboration with District Administration at Mini Secretariat Ganderbal here Tuesday.
The camp was jointly inaugurated by Principal District and Sessions judge Ganderbal, Raja Shujat Ali Khan and District Development Commissioner, Ganderbal Dr Piyush Singla.
The camp was attended by Chief Judicial Magistrate, ADDC Ganderbal, ACR Ganderbal, Deputy Director Planning Ganderbal, district officers of various departments, officers of the judiciary, bar members besides a large number of beneficiaries.
As many as 35 stalls by different departments like Health, Education, FCS&CA, Social welfare, District Industries, J&K Bank, KVIB, Labour, Fisheries, Floriculture, Agriculture, Horticulture, Handicrafts, Handloom besides Jamkash, PNB Metlife and LIC were installed.
During the camp, besides giving awareness and information about different schemes, the departments also distributed literature and brochures highlighting their activities among public at their stalls.
Several people were benefited by way of provisions of free legal and medical aid, literature material, tools and kits at the camp.
Principal District and Sessions judge and DDC Ganderbal while inspecting the stalls highlighted the importance of proper delivery of services to the public at ground root level.
The departments on the occasion delivered their services, wherein Social Welfare department distributed hearing aids among the disabled persons and cutting and Tailoring certificates to beneficiaries.
On the occasion, FCS&CA Department distributed gas connections under PMUY scheme, KVIB distributed Loan Sanction letters among 10 beneficiaries and the Fisheries Department distributed boats and tubs under Blue Revolution.
Agriculture Department distributed Certificate of Appreciation for Progressive farmers, Soil Health Cards besides tractors mounted sprayer at 50% subsidy were given to the beneficiaries. Labour department distributed cheques worth Rs 12,10,000 under Higher Education/Death/Medical/Injury Assistance among the beneficiaries. Hearing aids, wheel chair, rotators, MISED Kit and Elbow Crutch were provided by the Chief Education Department among disabled persons.
Speaking on the occasion, Principal District and Sessions judge Raja Shujat Ali Khan said the aim of organizing a legal services camp in the district is to make general masses aware of their entitlements under the law and apprise them about the availability of free legal services, besides to connect them to several welfare schemes launched by Central and State governments. He said collective efforts and coordinated approach between the Judiciary and the District Administration made the event a success, with the result a good number of people were made aware about various schemes and programs.
District Development Commissioner, Ganderbal Dr Piyush Singla gave a brief account of the services provided by various departments in the camp and said such events enable different departments to deliver their services in smooth, efficient and coordinated manner. He thanked the officers of various departments and judiciary for their cooperation and tremendous support in holding Mega Legal Services Awareness Camp and Employment Fair at District Headquarter. He also appreciated the people for mass participation in the camp.
