Srinagar/ April,27: Clashes erupted in Panzgam and Kralpora areas of north Kashmir’s Kupwara district on Thursday, shortly after a gunfight between militants and government forces ended early today.
Three army men, including a captain, and two militants were killed in the Fidayee attack at an army camp in Panzgam. Five troopers were also injured in the pre-dawn attack.
Witnesses said that youth took to streets in Panzgam and Kralpora areas to demand the mortal remains of two slain militants.
However, police deployed in the area used tear gas to disperse them, triggering clashes between the two sides.
