Srinagar/Oct, 13: Militants Friday night shot dead a policeman at his home in Warpora Sopore in north Kashmir’s Baramulla distri, police said.
A top police official said that militants barged inside the house of Javid Ahmad Lone, son of Abdul Khaliq Lone in Warpora village at around 10:45 pm and fired upon him. Lone suffered was shifted to the nearby hospital but he succumbed to injuries.
“Javid was fired upon by the militants at his home in Warpora Sopore and succumbed to his injuries in the hospital. He was working as a follower in the police department and was on leave,” .
Sleuths of army, Special Operations Group (SOG) of Jammu and Kashmir Police and CRPF have cordoned off the area and launched a manhunt to nab the attackers, said the official.
