Srinagar : The Swachhta Hi Seva campaign was Saturday launched in Srinagar as part of the nation-wide fortnight-long campaign dedicated to cleanliness across all aspect of life.
The campaign was kick started by the Additional District Development Commissioner, Mehraj-u-din, in a program organised here. Employees of all line departments and the Rural Development Department were present on the occasion.
The ADDC while speaking on the occasion said the district administration is looking forward to having a very fruitful fortnight-long campaign during which all efforts will be made to make cleanliness, the mainstays of life in the Srinagar district. He said the aim of the campaign will be to inculcate a sense of cleanliness being a part of the daily life in the district.
He urged everyone to make this campaign a huge success by making cleanliness an indispensable part of their lives and help the administration in its aim of making the district among the cleanest in the entire country.
The Swachhta Hi Sewa campaign will continue till Mahatma Gandhi’s birth anniversary on October 2. The nation-wide campaign is aimed at fulfilling the father of the nation’s dream of a clean India.
