Anantnag/Sept,8: Militants in the midnight hours attacked a police picket at Achabal area in South Kashmir’s Anantnag district and killed a militant in retaliatory fire.
Officials while confirming the killing of the militant in retaliatory fire said the weapon of the militant was also recovered from the site of attack.
The slain militant has been identified as Bilal Ahmad son of Abdul Ahad Bhatfrom Tatripora Yaripora of District Kulgam.
Bilal had joined the LeT outfit three months before. His involvement was also established in a weapon snatching case earlier.
In this incident one army man also sustained injuries and has been evacuated to the nearby hospital for medical attention. He is stated to be stable now.
From the spot two cars have been also seized by Police, which were apparently used by the militants.
Police has registered a case in this regard and investigation in the instant matter is in progress.
