Samba: DC listens to people’s issues at Vijaypur

Samba :  District Development Commissioner (DDC), Sushma Chauhan Saturday listened to people’s issues at a public grievance redress camp held here at Vijaypur Block.

During the camp, people put forth their demands and sought clearance of MGNREGA and SBM liabilities, construction of check dams and ponds for storage of rainwater, construction of playfields removal of encroachment from khads at Raya.

A delegation of People of Rajinder Singh Pura demanded    basic facilities like electricity at Rajinder Singh Park, construction of ponds, upgradation of transformer at Chani Manhasan. Similarly, Public of Kantpur and Jogpur demanded rectification of   wrong entries in ration cards, settlement of refugee cases under PMDP and strict check on land grabbing at Thandi khui.

The Public of Suchani sought improvement in power and water supply, plantation on land retrieved from encroachers, construction of passenger sheds on either side of National Highway at Vijaypur and fixed power curtailment schedule of electricity.

Woman activists Tripti Devi and Jeeto Devi demanded construction of women sanitary complex, construction of road at Shiv Nagar and Lane drain from Swankhamorh to Batali morh.

Responding to the demands, the DDC Sushma Chauhan   directed FCS&CA department to sort out the issue of wrong entries in ration cards through a Single window system.

She assured that cases of refugees under PMDP would be settled by December 15.

The Executive Officer Vijaypur was asked to prepare estimate of construction of passenger sheds at Vijaypur. She also passed on spot direction to the concerned officers for swift redress of issues concerning shortage of power and water in the area.

She also stressed upon officers to generate mass awareness about the welfare schemes to enable maximum   number of eligible persons to take benefits.

Among others present were ACD, CEO, Xens PWD, PHE, PDD, REW,CHO, CAO,EO Vijaypur besides Tehsildar and BDO.
