Srinagar, Aug 31 : The Supreme Court of India Friday morning deferred the crucial hearing on Article 35-A till 2nd week of January 2019.
Talking to Kashmir News Service (KNS), Mir Javid one of the members of the Civil Society Group accepted as an intervener in the case, said that three judge bench of the Supreme Court headed by chief justice of India Deepak Mishra after hearing the arguments of the petitioners and the counsels for the defendants, the J&K government and the Attorney General, Government of India deferred the hearing of the case till 2nd week of January 2019.
It may be recalled here that counsel for J&K government Shoaib Alam had moved an application a day before today’s crucial hearing to seek adjournment of the case in view of the proposed Panchayat and Municipal elections in the state.
