Advisor (G) felicitates DEPO Srinagar for bagging best teacher award

Srinagar : Advisor to Governor Khurshid Ahmad Ganai Saturday felicitated Ghulam Rasool Mir (District Education Planning Officer Srinagar) for being nominated for Best Teacher Award 2017 by Ministry of Human Resources Development, Government of India, New Delhi.
In his congratulatory message, Advisor has said the awardee teacher should be an inspiration for the teachers to work with added dedication.
Secretary School Education Rigzin Samphel, DSEK Dr. G.N. Itoo and other Education fraternity have also congratulated Ghulam Rasool Mir for the honour. Secretary School Education and DSEK have said this is a matter of pride for the State, particularly for the education fraternity.
Pertinently, Mir has been nominated for the Best Teacher Award for the year 2017. This was announced by Ministry of Human Resources Development, New Delhi according to which the 45 awardee teachers have been selected for the honour this year and they shall be awarded a certificate of merit, a cash prize of Rs 50, 000 and a Silver medal each, which shall be presented to them by Vice President of India on 5th September 2018 at Vigyan Bhawan, New Delhi.
The awardee from Jammu and Kashmir, Ghulam Rasool Mir has served in many capacities in the Department. He belongs to a remote area of Thandipora Dardpora Kupwara and was appointed as a teacher in Department of Education and got promoted as lecturer in Chemistry in 1988.
Mir served in different higher secondary schools of Kashmir Division and taught Chemistry at +2 level in Higher Secondary Schools like BHSS Tral, BHSS Charari Shareef, MPML Higher Secondary School Srinagar, BHSS Batamaloo and S P Higher Secondary School Srinagar.
He was promoted as Principal in 2010 and posted in BHSS Khaag, District Budgam. He is presently working as District Education Planning Officer, Srinagar.
