Srinagar: Security forces on Thursday launched a Cordon and Search Operation (CASO) after an army man was injured when militants attacked a patrol party in the frontier district of Kupwara, official sources said here.
They said a patrol party of security forces was fired upon by militants at village Wakbal, Kupwara this morning resulting in injuries to a soldier.
Security forces also retaliated but the militants escaped, they said adding the entire area has been sealed and a CASO has been launched after more troops were rushed from nearby camps.
The operation was going on when the reports last came in, they added.
