Srinagar: A weapon snatching bid of unidentified persons was foiled in Jammu Kashmir Bank branch Khrew area of Pampore on Friday.
The bank guard received minor injuries in the incident, local sources said.
A senior police official said that two unidentified persons attacked the bank guard with Chili powder and tried to snatch his 12-bore rifle at JK Bank branch Khrew however they were not successful.
The official added that bank guard resisted their move and they fled from the spot.
Police have taken up the investigation, he said.
