Srinagar: Terming the state subject law and guarding it as ‘matter of life and death for the people of Jammu Kashmir’, JKLF chairman, Muhammad Yasin Malik has said that Joint Resistance Leadership (JRL) has announced a protest program and called for a complete shutdown on 5th and 6th of August 2018 against any move to tinker with the state subject law.

In a statement issued to KNS, Malik said that the intended onslaught on hereditary state subject law will face a stiff resistance from every citizen of Jammu Kashmir and Kashmiris will not even shy away from spilling their blood to safeguard their unique identity and character.
JKLF chairman said that on 6th August 2018, Indian supreme court is scheduled to hear the petition on 35 A filed by a RSS backed NGO.
He said that Indian rulers from day one have been busy in hatching conspiracies to change the demography of Jammu Kashmir and this plea in Indian Supreme Court is also the part of the same conspiracy.
Malik said that inspired by Israeli tactics, RSS backed rulers with the active support of their Kashmiri supporters have launched a multi-pronged strategy to change demography in Jammu Kashmir. “Conspirators have taken this case to Indian Supreme Court which admitted it for hearing though it should have not been admitted in first place as same Supreme Court more than once in past has rejected similar kind of petitions on this,” Malik said.
He said that India deems Jammu Kashmir as its colony and attempts to suppress the resistance of the people of Jammu Kashmir and removing 35 A is also part of these efforts.
“We don’t want our people to suffer in any way as we all are aware of the hardships they are facing but when it comes to issue of life and death especially in ones collective (National) existence, no choice is left but to show resistance,” he said.
He said that it is India and its Kashmiri supporters who on daily basis are tossing up new controversies to inflame environment in Jammu Kashmir. “From last many years we have witnessed numerous controversial proposals and ideas being floated by Indian rulers who only want to inflict more and more harm to people of Jammu Kashmir,” he said.
“This new controversy on 35 A is also aimed at hurting our dignity; inflict more miseries on us and change the demography of our land, so that our resistance against illegal occupation is defeated completely,” Malik said.
“As a living nation, Kashmiris fully know to safeguard their dignity and resistance and whatever be the cost, we will resist every evil design of India which is detrimental to our sacred cause,” Malik asserted.
Malik asked Kashmiri Diaspora to enhance its efforts to protest against moves aimed at changing the demography of Jammu Kashmir and highlight the conspiratorial moves by Indian rulers against the people of Jammu Kashmir.
He said that “JKLF leaders and activists along with other living in UK, United States of America, Europe, UAE, Middle East, Pakistan and Azad Kashmir will also stage peaceful demonstrations against these ill-moves and motives and raise their united voice in defense of our national life, dignity and character.”
While condemning the fresh NIA raid on incarcerated Women leader Syeda Asiya Andrabi who along with Fahmida Sofi and Nahida Nasreen is lodged at Mandawali Jail Delhi, Malik said that “these tyrannical oppressive measures can not deter Kashmiris from pursuing the path of resistance against illegal occupation.”
He said that as in past these oppressive tactics will taste defeat. (KNS)
