Protest in Jammu: Mehbooba Mufti is now ‘anti-national’ for BJP

Jammu: Demanding the arrest of former Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti Governor’s administration for threatening New Delhi to create more ‘Salahuddins’ in Kashmir if there were attempts to cause a split in her party, Bharatiya Janata Party workers in Jammu burnt her effigy and described her ‘biggest anti-national’ and ‘supporter of militants.’
The BJP workers raised slogans against Mufti and held a demonstration at the busy road leading from Kachi Chowani to Civil Secretariat.
Mehbooba Mufti pertinently had warned the Centre that any attempt to break the PDP will have a “very dangerous” outcome.
“My party is strong, there are differences which can be resolved, if Delhi tries to dismiss the voting rights of people as in 1987, and if it tries to create divisions, then I believe that just like a Salahuddin and a Yasin Malik were born in 1987, If they try the same thing now and interfere, if it tries to break PDP, then the outcome will be very dangerous,” she had told reporters outside the Martyrs’ Graveyard in Srinagar.
Scores of BJP activists who staged a protest against Mehbooba Mufti said that BJP pull out from the government had become inevitable as Mehbooba was not interested in implementing developmental agenda of alliance. Several BJP leaders including Veena Gupta, Ayudhya Nath and others spoke to media. While asking Mehbooba Mufti to set her own house in order, they challenged Mehbooba Mufti to execute her threat, saying, “If you create one, we will send ten Bhagat Singhs from Jammu.”
BJP’s district president Ayudhya Nath demanded state governor to take action against Mufti for threatening to create militants like Syed Salahuddin.
