Jammu: A youth missing from Bhaderwah tehsil of Doda district of Jammu and Kashmir, is suspected to have joined Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) outfit, police said here on Saturday.
“Family of the missing youth namely Abid Hussain Bhat, resident of village Sazan had lodged his missing complaint in Bhaderwah tehsil of Doda,” police sources here said.
Police added that the youth’s brother Rehmat-ullah had said that Abid Hussain had left to Bhaderwah on June 30 and still not returned home, although they have tried to contact him but his phone was switched off.
Hussain’s father and brothers have reported the matter to the police.
“He used to work as a labourer and the family came to know about his joining of militant outfit after his picture went viral on social media,” said police.
Meanwhile, SSP Doda Shabir Ahmed said, “We have come across about his joining through social media but investigations are on.”
