Srinagar, Apr 16: Chairman Hurriyat (G), Syed Ali Geelani on Sunday said that people in state are facing ‘state sponsored terrorism’.
Expressing his deep grief and concern over the killing of youth in Batamaloo, Geelani in a statement issued to KNS said, “Life and dignity in state is not safe and people suffer at the hands of ill minded and bigoted forces personnel.”
Geelani condemned the ‘merciless and brutal thrashing’ of youth and unwanted action of forces on students in Pulwama and in his statement impressed human rights organization for their cognizance and said that people in state are very anxious and skeptical about these organizations for their inaction and carelessness.
“People believe that these organizations follow double standard and with the result the situation in state may turn from bad to worse,” Geelani said.
Geelani while lashing out at forces said that “most of these recruits follow fanatical theory and in the garb of uniform carry the agenda of their communal sponsors. They feel free to carry massacres and enjoy blessings of Jan Sangh leadership in Delhi.”
While blaming PM Narendra Modi and Home Minister Rajnath Singh for backing and encouraging these forces, Geelani said, “The aggravated statement encourages and provoke forces to target our lives and dignity.”
Commenting over the recent video clips about youth being killed and thrashed, Geelani said that “it is part of their game and as such no probe or investigation is expected.”
Terming killing of Batmaloo youth ‘a target and cold murder’, Geelani said that unabated killing has become daily routine.
Geelani condemned the use of ‘brute force’ against students of Pulwama college and said that “how can they justify their entry into an educational institution. It looks as all our educational institutions are their prime target and it is a ploy to ruin career of young students.”
“There was no justification to set up a naka outside Degree College Pulwama. These forces on one pretext or the other, just want to try their muscle and mettle,” said Geelani and asked that what was the fun to deploy forces outside college?
“It was just to provoke students and as such got their entry in institution and ruthlessly thrashed whosoever came in their way,” said Geelani.
“It is unacceptable, and state administration would be held responsible if these events are not stopped forthwith or else they shall have to face the consequences,” he said.
Taking dig at Pro-Indian parties, Geelani said that “it is strange and said people in state are facing brutalities and extreme type of state terrorism while as these parties are fighting for power sharing and least care about people.” (KNS)
