Jugal Kishore chairs DISHA meet in Jmu

Srinagar: Member Parliament, Jammu-Poonch constituency Jugal Kishore Sharma Monday chaired a meeting of District Development Coordination and Monitoring Committee – DISHA to review the physical and financial achievements under various centrally sponsored schemes being implemented in Jammu district here Monday.

The meeting was attended by Member Parliament Shamsher Singh Manhas, Legislators Sat Sharma, Dr Krishan Lal Bhagat, Deputy Commissioner Jammu, Kumar Rajeev Ranjan, JMC Commissioner, Ramesh Kumar besides other members of the committee, district and sectoral officers.

During the meeting, the members took a comprehensive review of physical and financial achievements of centrally sponsored schemes including MUDRA, PMGSY, DDUGJY , NRLM, PMUJ, SSA, RMSA, IWMP, PMFBY, PMKSY, PMUY, SAUBHAGYA, implementation of Swachh Bharat Mission etc.

The Deputy Commissioner Jammu gave a power point presentation on the achievements and progress made in the district under different schemes and informed about the latest status of various developmental projects.

Giving a detail position of Prime Minister Social Security Scheme, the DC informed that the number of accounts opened under Pradhan Mantri Jan Dhan Yojana, Pradhan Mantri Jeevan Jyoti Bima Yojana,Pradhan Mantri Suraksha Bima Yojana and Atal Pension Yojana were 272150, 74329, 169773 and 13844 respectively as on March 31, 2018.

The MP assessed the detailed report of Jammu-Akhnoor 4-laning mega project and instructed the concerned authorities and the executing agencies to initiate the work on the prestigious project as early as possible. He also reviewed the status of land acquisition and forest clearance / tree cutting and utility shifting under the project. Details of Jammu Ring Road costing Rs 1891.12 crore were also presented before the Committee.

“Under PMUY, out of total number of 63720 targeted households, 27601 PMUY KYC were completed, 21244 PMUY connections were installed, 25151 Extended PMUY KYC and 11290 were Extended PMUY connections”, the DC informed the Committee.

Jugal Kishore Sharma instructed the concerned functionaries to make sure that the benefits under various Central Sponsored Schemes must reach the deserving beneficiaries and further directed for the submission of detailed report of MUDRA beneficiaries.

Stressing on creating mass awareness about various Central Sponsored Schemes for the effective implementation of welfare schemes at the grass root level,the MP asked the district administration to motivate more people to build toilets in their households to achieve the goal of making the state Open Defection Free.

Jugal Kishore Sharma emphasized on optimum utilization of available resources and instructed the concerned officers for regular monitoring and follows up of all ongoing development works to achieve quality parameters.

The meeting was also informed about several issues regarding construction of bunkers in border areas, compensation of land  under border fencing, issuance  of new ration cards and many alike. The MP asked the concerned authorities to prioritize the redressal of issues to benefit the people at large.

Jugal Kishore Sharma directed the BDOs to clear all the pending payments of executing agencies involved in the development works initiated through CDF.
