Div Com(J) reviews Shab-i-Qadr, Eid-ul-Fitr arrangements

Jammu: Divisional Commissioner, Jammu Hemant Kumar Sharma Saturday reviewed the arrangements for Shab-e-Qadr and Eid-ul-Fitr  here at meeting of senior civil and police officers.

The meeting was attended by IGP, Jammu Dr. S.D Singh Jamwal, Director  FCS&CA Jammu R.A Inqalabi, Director Health Services Jammu Dr. Gurjeet Singh, ADC Jammu Dr. Arun Manhas, Administrator, Aquaf Wakeel Ahmad Batt, officers of Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs, Legal Metrology Department, PHE, PDD, Animal Husbandry, JMC, Police, and other line departments.

The FCS&CA Department was directed to ensure adequate stock of essential commodities including rice, wheat and sugar at the ration depots and provision of additional quota of sugar   sanctioned by the government ahead of Eid-ul-Fitr. The Sheep Husbandry Department was asked to ensure buffer stock to cater to the meat demand on the festival.

The Deputy Commissioners were asked to constitute flying squads to keep check on overcharging and quality of the essential commodities.

To facilitate hassle free movement of traffic, the police department was asked to deploy sufficient number of personnel at vital points across winter capital Jammu.   It was   directed to ensure fool proof security arrangements around the Mosques and Eidgahs.

The PDD was directed to provide uninterrupted power supply and formation of Quick Response Teams at district headquarters to deal with any emergency situation. The PHE department was directed to ensure adequate water supply in the city and installation of drinking water tankers outside the places designated for Eid prayers .

The Director, Health Services was asked to ensure availability of medicines and medical staff at the respective heath centres and keep ambulances on standby to deal with any exigency.

The JMC was directed to ensure that areas around the mosques in the city are properly sanitized and surroundings are kept garbage free.

Div Com asked the department to work in close coordination to ensure that requisite facilities are provided to the people during the festival days.

The Information Department was asked to ensure installation of Public Address Systems at Eidgah and mosque on Tawi Bridge.
