Div Com(K) reviews land acquisition cases in Srinagar

Srinagar:  Divisional Commissioner Kashmir Baseer Ahmad Khan Monday convened a meeting to review the acquisition of land and structures for various developmental projects in downtown Srinagar.

Threadbare discussion was held for Land/Structure acquisition for the beautification of Shah-i-Hamdan (RA) shrine at Khan Kahi Moulla, Community Halls at Mir Masjid, Malik Pora Zaina Kadal, Namchibal and Baba Demb, Aziz Park at Khanyar and other developmental works which are progress in Shahri Khas (Down Town).

On the occasion, Divisional Commissioner said Chief Minister is keen to see the completion of beautification project of Shah-i-Hamdan (RA) shrine at Khan Kahi Moulla Srinagar in a shortest possible time.

Div Com directed the revenue officers to identify the land for the construction of new shopping complex for the rehabilitation of 14 affected shopkeepers whose shops came under this prestigious project while as for the acquisition of land from four structures, compensation will be paid to their owners in next High-Level Committee (HLC) meeting.

The Divisional Commissioner directed Additional Deputy Commissioner Srinagar, Superintending Engineer R&B, Commissioner SMC to visit the above said places and review the progress of developmental works and submit the report to the Divisional Commissioner office within a week so that all developmental works in the Shahri Khas (Down Town) will be completed within a time frame.

For other developmental projects, Khan directed Superintending Engineer R&B to review the progress of the works and submit the report to the Divisional Commissioner office within a fortnight so that all developmental works in the downtown will be completed within a time frame.

Deputy Commissioner Srinagar Dr. Syed Abid Rashid Shah, Additional Deputy Commissioner Srinagar, MD JKPCC, Director Tourism, VC SDA, Superintending Engineer R&B, Collector Land Acquisition, Assistant Commissioner, affected shop/structure owners and other concerned officers were present in the meeting.
