Jammu/June, 3:Two BSF men were on Sunday killed and three civilians injured on in a fresh round of cross border fire and shelling along the International border in Pargwal sector of Akhnoor in Jammu.
A BSF source said that Pakistan Rangers targeted a BSF post in the area around 2.00 am. “In the firing, an assistant sub-inspector of the BSF, S N Yadav and another trooper Ct. V K Pandey were injured. Both of them succumbed later,” he said.
He said that the BSF retaliated effectively and strongly. “The exchange of fire is on in the entire Pargwal sector, involving over 10 border posts and 35 border villages on our side,” said the source.
The fresh exchange of fire comes barely a week after the DGMOs of India and Pakistan agreed to implement 2003 ceasefire agreement on the border.
