Srinagar: Army on Thursday said that two militants were killed in a gunfight between militants and the government forces in Qaziabad forest area of Handwara in north Kashmir’s Kupwara district.
An official said that the militants fired at a patrol party of 32 Rashtriya Rifles late last night in the forest area.
Army, he said, retaliated to the fire, triggering a gunfight. “During searches, bodies of two militants were found,” he said, adding that their identity is being established.
On its Twitter handle army said the operation is going on.
