Srinagar: Baramulla police arrested a Molvi after a video of Molvi thrashing a child had gone viral on social media.
Taking cognizance of a video clip circulated on social media wherein an 8-year-old boy is being seen hung upside down and is being thrashed by Molvi at a local Dasrgah.
The accused has been identified as Molvi Mushtaq Ahmed Dar son of Ghulam Ahmad Dar resident of Batpora Tangmarg, presently residing at Iqbal Colony Baramulla.
Molvi has been arrested and a case FIR NO 86/2018 under sections 342, 323 RPC, 24 Juvenile Justice Act 2013 has been registered in Police Station Baramulla. Further investigation into the matter is going on.
