Srinagar: A minor girl was allegedly raped in Yarikhah village of Khansahib area of central Kashmir’s Budgam district, police said Monday.
The father of the girl, in his complaint with Khansahib police station, alleged that his minor daughter (name withheld) was raped by a 22-year-old youth, said a spokesman. “Police has taken the cognizance of the case and accordingly medical examination of the minor girl was conducted which confirmed the rape of the victim,” he said.
The accused, according to the spokesman, has been identified and is still at large. A hunt has been launched to arrest the accused.
“In this regard, a case under relevant provisions of the law has been registered and investigation is going on,” he said.
