Dy CM underlines need for collective efforts

Jammu:Stressing on the need to evolve a society where individuals voluntarily submit to the civic standards, Deputy Chief Minister Kavinder Gupta Wednesday said there is dire need to make collective efforts to create awareness regarding cleanliness and hygiene.

Deputy Chief Minister said this while addressing a valedictory function of 3-Day Intensive Awareness Initiative for Clean Tawi – Clean Jammu #Hero4Tawi conceived and supervised by Bharti Vaid, Chairperson Jammu and Kashmir Police Wives Welfare Association PWWA (Police Pariwar).

Kavinder Gupta while complementing the J&K Police especially Chairperson PWWA (J&K Police Pariwar) for taking the initiative and organizing such a mega event, said keeping our surroundings neat and clean is the responsibility of every individual. “It is moral duty of every one to think over Swatchhta which is effects one and all” said the Deputy Chief Minister.

The main highlights of this 3-day campaign were Walk for Tawi, Cultural Programs, Nukkad Nataks, Slogan, painting competition, lectures on waste management, quiz, on spot prizes at different places across Jammu city, Tawi cleanup, cleanliness drive at different places, distribution of langer / community meals, bike rally flag off etc.

MLC Ramesh Arora and MLC Surinder Ambardar were the Guests of honour on the occasion.

At the beginning of the program, Dy CM felicitated  the organisations which supported the campaign.

Bharti Vaid, Chairperson Jammu and Kashmir Police Wives Welfare Association PWWA (Police Pariwar) gave a power point presentation from the state of conceptualization of the initiative to its implementation. She thanked all the stakeholders and individuals, businessmen who supported the campaign.

Earlier, Deputy CM visited the Marithia Mohalla inTrikuta Nagar to meet the   Friday night fire victi  One person died and many slums were gutted in the fire.

On the occasion, the Deputy CM gave away Red Cross relief to 43 families affected by the fire incident.
