Srinagar: A photograph of a South Kashmir youth holding assault rifle has gone viral on social media networking sites wherein netizens claiming that the said youth has joined militant ranks.
Tawseef Ahmed Thokar, a private school teacher who hails from Charsoo Awantipora area of South Kashmir’s Pulwama district can be purportedly seen holding two assault rifles in the photograph. The photographs also contains the logo of militant outfit Hizbul Mujhadeen.
Reports said that the father of the youth is a government school teacher who had been detained several times during 2016 agitation.
Sources told local news gathering agency CNS that another youth from the same Chersoo village is missing while family has lodged a missing report.
A police official said that they are ascertaining the facts.
