Pulwama/May, 12: A paramilitary Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) was on Saturday morning killed in a gunfight with militants in Barpora area of south Kashmir’s Pulwama district .
Reports said that the gunfight began around midnight after a joint team of 55 RR, SOG of Jammu and Kashmir and 182 Bn CRPF cordoned off Chinar bagh, Mohalla Takya in Barpora.
The exchange of fire, reports said, has stopped but the searches were going on in the area. The militants trapped in the cordoned area are believed to have escaped said unconfirmed reports.
Meanwhile a CRPF of man injured in initial exchange of fire is reported to have succumbed to injuries. He was identified as Mandeep Kumar of 182 BN CRPF.
