Srinagar/May,11: A complete shutdown here being observed in Sumbal area of North Kashmir’s Bandipora district against the firing of pellets by cops on a shopkeepers Thursday this week.
Pellets were fired on shopkeeper Abdul Rasheed Wani (50) of Sumbal, which resulted in severe damage to his eye, besides injuries in the face. He is being treated at SKIMS Soura.
All shops and other business establishments are closed while traffic is off the roads.The Traders Federation Sumbal (TFS) staged a dharna today morning and vowed to continue it until the police lodged an FIR against the accused cops.
Government forces had Thursday this week fired pellets at the shopkeepers and students during a protest march taken out by the latter against the recent militant and civilian killings. The government as reported already has closed Degree College Sumbal and Higher Secondary School Sumbal today as a precautionary measure to prevent any untoward incident.
