Jitendra launches Ayushman Bharat Scheme at Udhampur

Udhampur: Minister of State for Development of North Eastern Region (Independent Charge), Prime Minister’s Office, Personnel, Public Grievances and Pensions, Department of Atomic Energy and Department of Space GOI, Dr. Jitendra Singh formally inaugurated Ayushman Bharat Scheme here Tuesday.

The scheme forms the  part of the  Gram Swaraj Abhiyan started on April 14, 2018 to commemorate the birth Anniversary of Bhim Rao Ambedkar.

The launch programe was attended by Deputy Commissioner,   Ravinder Kumar, Senior Superintendent of Police, Rayees Bhat, Chief Planning Officer, Ashok Khajuria,  Chief Medical Officer, Dr. K.C Dogra,  Chief Executive Officer Municipality, Santosh Kotwal, Medical Superintendent district Hospital,  Dr Vijay Basnotra, Deputy Medical Superintendent, Vijay Raina, and  other district officers of  Health and RDD departments, staff members  and students of ANMT school and a large number of beneficiaries.

Earlier, the District Development Commissioner, Udhampur  Ravinder Kumar threw light on the Ayushman Bharat  scheme . He informed that Ayushman Bharat is national health protection scheme, which will cover  over 10 Crore Back ward classes, landless farmers, poor and needy people across the country . “Around 50 Crore families will be provide Rs 5 lakh insurance cover per year for secondary and tertiary hospitalization, he said. For effective implementation of Ayushman Bharat under the 1st phase, the district administration has set up 12 centres deployed 29 ISM doctors for spreading awareness  among the general public, the DC informed  .

In his address, Dr. Singh said the aim and objective of  Gram Swaraj Abhiyan is to intensify mass awareness about the benefits of various social security Schemes and their effective implementation at the grassroots. He informed that on April 14 Prime Minister launched   Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana, Saubhagya, Ujala scheme, Pradhan Mantri Jan Dhan Yojana, Pradhan Mantri Jeevan Jyoti Bima Yojana, Pardhan Mantri Suraksha Bima Yojana and Mission Indradhanush under Gram Swaraj Abhiyan.

He said 19 villages of Udhampur district have been taken up under  Ayushman Bharat in district Udhampur . Describing  Gram Swaraj Abhiyan as a revolutionary scheme of the present Government, the Union Minister said it envisages to safeguard the interest of poor people of the country.

He said the central government led by PM Modi was working with new ideas to ensure the welfare of the people and development of the nation. The Union Minister said the Ayushman Bharat would focus on welfare of the poor and address the aspirations of every Indian.

Listing the J&K projects, Dr Singh said various initiatives have been taken by the present dispensation for the development of the state.

Citing Devika River Rejuvenation project, he said Rs 170.50 Crore has been sanctioned for this prestigious project.
