Jhalandhar: Reacting over the ‘abduction’ of Kashmiri student studying at St. Soldier Management and Technical Institution, Jalandhar Punjab, Jammu Kashmir Police said that Adil Ahmed Teli has been arrested by Cyber Cell Delhi with regard to a case registered against him.
The students of St. Soldier Management and Technical Institution who live in a rented room at Gagan Vihar Mithoo Basti falling under the jurisdiction of JP Nagar Police Station had informed the College authorities that a couple of men brandishing pistols entered their room and abducted Adil Ahmed Teli, a BCA student who hails from Noonmai, Yaaripora Kulgam district.
The students said that unknown armed men even seized the laptop and pen drive of Adil.
The student remained untraceable for almost 8 hours while the Principal of the Institute Dr Pushkar Nath according to protesting students showed callous attitude and didn’t try to locate the ‘abducted’ student.
Director St. Soldier Management and Technical Institute, Mr Manohar Arora said that whole college is at the back of the student.
When asked to throw light on the matter, he said that Jalandar police have informed that Adil has been arrested by Delhi Police Cyber Cell in a hacking case. “I don’t know which websites he has hacked or what he has done but sincerely speaking he is an intelligent student,” Arora said adding that College authorities are in touch with the police.
SSP Kulgam, Dr Harmeet Singh also said that the student has been arrested by Cyber Cell under an FIR registered against him. “We have informed his parents and are in touch with the Cyber Cell,” he said.
