Srinagar: Hizb-ul-Mujahideen on Saturday condemned the arrest of Dukhtaran-e-Millat chief, Syeda Asiya Andrabi.
In an e-mailed statement issued to local news gathering agency KNS, the Hizb spokesman, Saleem Hashmi quoted the outfit chief, Syed Salah-ud-din said, “Despite being ill, authorities have arrested the DeM chief again which is glaring example of Indian government’s stubbornness and frustration.”
He said that “besides Asiya Andrabi, her husband Dr Qasim Faktoo who continues to remain under arrest from past 25 years is being deprived of proper eye treatment.”
“According to the sources, Dr Faktoo has suffered eye infection and is being deprived of proper treatment. There are quite apprehensions that Dr Faktoo may lose eyesight in case he will be deprived of proper treatment,” Hizb chief said.
He said that “such tactics of Indian leadership won’t succeed and it also won’t help them to suppress the voice of people.”
Hizb chief also asked the world Human rights organizations “to take notice of such human rights violations in Kashmir and impress upon Indian leadership to stop such violations.”
He also said that the sacrifices rendered by the people won’t go waste and the struggle will continue till any logical conclusion.
