Lal’s revolt

In less than twenty four hours after formal acceptance of his resignation by Governor N N Vohra the sacked Forest Minister Chowdhry Lal Singh virtually revolted both against the BJP central high command by taking out a rally over the demand for the transfer of the Kathua girl’s rape-n-murder case to Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI). A minister sacked on charges of attending a rally called in support of the transfer of the case to Central Bureau of Investigation taking out a rally over the same demand speaks volumes about his dissidence and deserves the attention of his party’s central high command. What matters the most is the absence of the said minister at a high level party meeting called to review the situation in the aftermath of the sacking of two ministers from the Mehbooba’s cabinet on charges of their participation in a Hindu Ekta Manch Rally called to press the demand for the transfer of the case to Central Bureau of Investigation.

By all standards of political understandabilities an impression brewing up among the people is that if the central high command of the BJP does not serious note of the dissident activities of Chowdhry Lal Singh the saffron party may become a casualty of inner party dissidence in 2019 Lok Sabha elections.

Though Chowdhry Lal Singh did not get any support from the BJP in taking out a rally over the demand for transfer of the Kathua rape-n-murder case to the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) but party’s silence over the anti-party activities of Lal Singh in the aftermath of his sacking would by all standards of political understandabilities encourage dissidence within the ranks of the state unit of the BJP. One more indication of growing dissidence within the state BJP came to light when the contradictory reports about the resignations of BJP ministers for a major reshuffle in the BJP part of coalition ministry triggered debates about the fate of the PDP-BJP alliance. Though State BJP General Secretary (Organisation) Ashok Koul and the incumbent Minister for Health and Medical Education one after the other termed media reports about the resignation of their party’s ministers as baseless but a counter question for them could be that the leaders without disclosing their identity were quoted as confirming the resignations by all BJP ministers in media reports . Somewhere some people within the BJP are involved in dissident activities and interestingly dissidents within the BJP have got activated barely two days after the sacking of two minister Chowdhry Lal Singh and Chander Prakash Ganaga. By all standards of political understandabilities an impression brewing up among the people is that if the central high command of the BJP does not serious note of the dissident activities of Chowdhry Lal Singh the saffron party may become a casualty of inner party dissidence in 2019 Lok Sabha elections.
