Shameless U-Turns of faceless ministers, lawyers

Two BJP ministers and lawyers of Jammu and Kathua after coming out in open support of the Kathua gang rape-n-murder case have virtually turned out faceless enough to take U-turns on their conduct in the public rallies and courts. The BJP ministers Chowdhry Lal Singh and Chander Prakash Ganga after submitting their resignations are though claiming that they had participated in the Hindu Ekta Manch rally only to reconcile the agitators who were demanding CBI probe into the minor girl’s rape-n-murder case but a counter question for them is that why they did not take a prior consent from the Chief Minister who herself holds the portfolio of home department. After all the Hindu Ekta Manch rally had called the rally to challenge the decision of the state cabinet of which the two ministers were a part and their statements and conduct were giving sufficient indications about their intents and tendencies of conspiring against the government of which they were a part just to settle political scores. Interestingly the BJP central high command did not bother to take cognizance of the participation of its two ministers in the Hindu Ekta Manch rally till the time lawyers in the premises of Kathua district court stopped the investigation team of the crime branch of Jammu & Kashmir police from filing the charge sheet against the accused and the Jammu Bar Association called for a strike in entire Jammu region in support of the accused.

Even naives can understand that had the Congress President Rahul Gandhi not taken out a candle light protest at mid night at India gate and had the lawyers of the Supreme Court not gone with a plea of intervention to the Chief Justice of the Supreme Court the Prime Minister and the Home Minister won’t have broken their silence and consequently the ministers forced to quit under mounting political pressure won’t have resigned and lawyers of Jammu Bar Association won’t have taken a U –turn by demanding compensation for the victims family and a candle light march to remember the victim.

Fact of the matter is that the Prime Minister and Home Minister did not break their silence over the statements and the conduct of the two ministers Lal Singh and Chander Prakash Ganga till the time Supreme Court issued notice to Jammu Bar Association over the incident at Kathua district court at the insistence of supreme court lawyers and Congress President Rahul Gandhi took out a candle light protest at mid night India gate too seek justice for Kathua minor girl. The sensitivities of the issue demand that not only the accused but also their supporters and sympathizers taking U-turn facelessly over their support to the accused are given the exemplary punishment to ensure that such heinous crime don’t occur in future.
