Srinagar/April,10: Former chief minister Omar Abdullah Tuesday welcomed police’s action of lodging FIR against lawyers who prevented crime branch officials from filing charge sheet in court against the accused in Kathua minor and rape case.
Taking to social networking website Twitter, Omar wrote: “Good. Lawyers who have no respect for the law deserve to have the full weight of the law books crash down on them”.
The move of Kathua based lawyers has drawn flak from various quarters with Congress state president GM Mir terming the move as “politically motivated”. Earlier, traders body Kashmir Economic Alliance(KEA) demanded FIR against the protesting lawyers of Kathua bar.
