Srinagar/April,2: Shutdown called by Joint Resistance leadership comprising Syed Ali Shah Geelani the Hurriyat Conference(G) Chairman, Mirwaiz Molvi Umar Farooq the Hurriyat Conference(M) Chairman and Yasin Malik the JKLF Chairman in response to killing of militants and civilians had collpased normal life in Kashmir valley today.
The law enforcing authorities in view of the anger brewing up among people against militant and civilian killings have put restrictions in sensitive areas of Kashmir valley. As already reported internet services continue to remain suspended accross Kashmir. Commercial establishments and offices are also closed, while government ordered closure of all educational institutions
All examinations scheduled on Monday were also postponed by all three universities including Kashmir University, Islamic University and Central University. Public transport was off the roads.
In region’s summer capital Srinagar government enforced restrictions particularly in downtown areas.
