Ansari for nurturing talent to bring out the best in youth

Jammu: Minister for Information Technology, Technical Education, Youth Services and Sports, Imran Raza Ansari  inaugurated 17th Sub Junior National Wushu Championship here Wednesday.

The Championship is being organised by Wushu Association of J&K, in which 900 players both men and women across India are participating. The event will culminate on March 31, 2018.

Secretary Sports Council, Waheed-ur-Rehman Parra, President Wushu Association of India, Bhupinder Singh Bajwa, Vice President Wushu Association of J&K, Vijay Saraf, Member BCC, J&K State Sports Council, Ranjeet Kalra and Chief Coach of India, Kuldeep Handu were present on the occasion.

Addressing the sports persons after inaugurating the championship, the Minister said the youth of our state have ample  talent but the need is to identify the same  and provide them full support to bring our  best in them.

“Onus of channelizing the energy of youth positively lies on every one’s shoulders, the Minister said adding that youth are our future and their proper nurturing is our responsibility”.

Ansari said it is the endeavour of the government to give full momentum to sports culture besides recognising the meritorious students and to provide them all kind of support in their future endeavours.

The Minister asked the concerned officers for  organising such events in the Kashmir division to give boost to sports. It will help to combat the negative portrayed image of the state, he added.

Speaking on the occasion, Secretary, Sports Council  said sports and games impart a sense of discipline, fellow feeling, and togetherness, besides it teaches the value of time in the field of competition. “Sports are vital to channelize the energy of students in a positive direction,” he added.

President, Wushu Association of India, Bhupinder Singh also spoke on the occasion and  also requested for establishment of permanent Wushu Camp  in Kashmir Division.
