Javaid Mustafa reviews progress on developmental works

Jammu: Minister for Disaster Management Relief Rehabilitation & Re-construction and Floriculture Javaid Mustafa Mir Tuesday convened a high-level meeting to review the progress on various development works being executed by different departments.

The Minister was apprised about the works being executed by R&B, JKPCC and SMC are in full swing and would be completed soon.

During the meeting, the minister was informed that construction work on various bridges washed away during 2014 devastating floods at Rohmshu Nalla Pulwama, Rambiar Nalla Shopian, Tarzo and Dragpora (Pattan) bridge are at full swung and are expected to be completed soon.

The Minister was further informed that material testing labs have been placed at these construction sites to keep check quality of the material used in these works.

While reviewing the statues of road up-gradation work at different areas of Kashmir division, the Minister was informed that works on Nowgam to Mehajoor Nagar road via Padshahi Bagh will be started soon with completion of drainage system on the road side.

The Minister was informed that construction of extension blocks of Lal Ded and Bone and Joint (B&J) hospitals will be started soon.

The Minister directed for expediting the pace of works being executed, besides directing SMC for submitting a Detailed Project Report regarding the construction of drain at Nowgam to Mehajoor Nagar via Padshahi Bagh.

The Minister sought coordination and cooperation among departments so that target achieving mechanism can be initiated.

He also stressed upon concerned officials to work in synergy and enthusiasm to achieve tangible results on ground.

Commissioner Secretary R&B Sanjeev Varma, Chief Engineer R&B, CEO JTFRP Vinod Sharma, Joint Director Planning and various other concerned officers were present in the meeting.
