Ang: The Handicrafts department Saturday organised an awareness camp for artisans at Khreti, Kokernag
The camp was attended by scores of participants from the district related to different handicraft activities. The participants were informed with various welfare schemes run by the department for the assistance of the artisans.
Speaking on the occasion, the ADDC Anantnag, Reyaz Ahmad Sofi, who was the chief guest on the occasion, said the department provides financial assistance of Rs500 for each trainee during the training period and 25 trainees are provided one year training in different skills like handicrafts, chain stitch, tila dozi, paper mashie and shawl bafee.
