Baramulla/Feb,22:A protest demonstration was held in north Kashmir’s Baramulla township over recent remark of Post Office Superintendent in which he had said “the office doesn’t have the space for passport seva kendra”.
The remark had followed shortly after chief minister Mehbooba Mufti tweeted regarding inauguration of passport seva kendras at post offices in Anantnag, Kathua and Baramulla.
The protest was held by Baramulla Joint Coordination Committee (BJCC) at town’s main chowk. Later, protestors took a rally towards deputy commissioner’s office and dispersed peacefully.
Earlier, Baramulla Post Office Superintendent, Vijay Chowdary had said:”We already are short of accommodation so it is extremely difficult to provide space for the passport seva kendra. We had recommended Bandipora post office for the service.”
