Baramulla: Additional Deputy Commissioner Baramulla Farooq Ahmad Baba Tuesday conducted the marketing checking at various locations of Baramulla.
The checking was aimed to ensure the quality and price control and to keep vigil on erring traders.
During the inspection, the checking team realized fine of Rs.21000 from various shopkeepers violating the legal regulations. The team also destroyed contaminated 65 kg spices and seized 70 kgs of polythene.
On the occasion, the ADC said several committees have already been constituted at Tehsil level so that such drives can also be launched at Tehsil level.
Meanwhile, the ADC impressed upon authorities to ensure hassle-free movement of commuters by acting against street encroachers. Moreover, the ADC urged upon the people to avoid the use of polythene so that the pollution can be minimized.
