Jammu, Feb 08: National Conference working president and leader of the opposition in the assembly Omar Abdullah here on Thursday sought extension in the relaxation of the upper age limit for All India Service examinations as the central government has withdrawn the extension in the upper age limit relaxation in All India service examinations for students from Jammu and Kashmir.
Raising the issue during zero hour in the assembly, Omar said “I had raised this issue also during my participation in the debate on demand of grants for departments lying under the control of the chief minister but there is no word from the government over this issue and instead the central government has withdrawn the extension in the upper age limit relaxation given to Jammu and Kashmir since 1995. I urge chief minister to take up the issue with the central government and ensure the extension in the upper age limit relaxation for candidates of Jammu and Kashmir appearing in All India Service examinations including combined services (IAS, IFS, IPS etc.) examination”.
