Srinagar: Security forces on Tuesday night launched a Cordon and Search Operation (CASO) in south Kashmir after security forces opened fire when they noticed some suspicious movement, official sources said.
They said an alert sentry of police station Rajpora opened fire when he saw some suspicious movement near the police station tonight. However, a CASO operation was immediately launched in the area, they said adding so far nothing was found. Panic gripped in the area after the people heard the firing shots.
Last night militants hurled a hand grenade towards a security force camp at Kakpora in Pulwama. However, no one was injured.
