Srinagar|Nov, 7: The Department of Agriculture, Srinagar, organized a District Kissan Mela-cum-Exhibition under the Agricultural Technology Management Agency (ATMA) scheme at Darbagh, Eidgah, Harwan, to familiarize local farmers with modern agricultural technologies, government initiatives, and emerging opportunities in allied sectors.
Minister for Agriculture and Finance, Javid Ahmad Dar, chaired the programme as Chief Guest, alongside Guest of Honour and MLA Hazratbal, Salman Ali Sagar.
Designed as a direct bridge between farming communities and agricultural experts, the mela provided a platform for participants to explore research-based solutions, scientific practices, and departmental support aimed at boosting agricultural productivity.
Organized under the ATMA scheme—which centers on technology dissemination, grassroots farmer participation, and inter-departmental coordination—the initiative underscored the government’s push to deliver modern, research-driven agricultural knowledge straight to the field.
