Shopian | Nov, 06: Police on Friday said that it has seized 20 vehicles involved in the illegal extraction and transportation of minerals during coordinated operations across Shopian, Kulgam, Sopore, Bandipora, and Baramulla districts.
In a statement issued here on Friday Police said that five tractors were seized in Shopian, seven vehicles in Kulgam, one tractor in Sopore, four vehicles in Bandipora, and three tippers in Baramulla. Legal proceedings and investigations under relevant laws have been initiated to prevent unauthorized exploitation of natural resources. Bandipora Police also initiated 49 legal actions and seized 17 vehicles during a parallel 36-hour traffic enforcement drive.
