Spl Summary Revision of Photo Electoral Rolls: ECI extends date for filling claims, objections
Share on FacebookShare on TwitterWhatsappTelegramEmail

New Delhi | November, 05: The Election Commission of India (ECI) has announced that the Special Summary Revision (SSR) of electoral rolls in Jammu & Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh, and Ladakh will be scheduled later due to onsetting winter weather.
“Also, for the 3 States/UTs namely Himachal Pradesh, Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh, where SIR has not been started so far, schedule for roll revision will be announced in due course of time keeping in view their weather conditions,” the ECI said. The deferment comes as higher reaches become inaccessible due to snowfall. Since the last revision in 2024, no updated voter list has been issued, leaving the pending municipal and urban local body elections on hold until the revision is completed.
