Gandhi Global Family tributes Mahatma Gandhi on martyrdom day

Jammu:Gandhi Global Family J&K paid  rich tributes  to  Mahatma Gandhi on his martyrdom day during a program  held at historical Dewan-e-Aam Mubarak Mandi Heritage Complex Jammu.

Legislators, M. Y. Targami, Rajesh Gupta and Naresh Gupta, Divisional Commissioner Jammu Hemant Kumar Sharma  attended the event and paid tributes to Mahatma Gandhi and recalled his contribution towards the Nation. They highlighted the significance of philosophy of Gandhiji, which inspires to follow the path of truthfulness and righteousness, to create a better world to live in.

Divisional Commissioner who presided over the function emphasized the need of following the principles and ideology of Gandhiji to steer Tuesday’s world of chaos and confusion towards a peaceful and contended place. “Such ethical teachings have more relevance in present times when the mankind is destructively leading towards attaining materialistic accomplishments forgetting the real purpose of their lives on earth”, he maintained. He impressed upon the students to imbibe the ‘Gandhian Philosophy’ in their day to day lives to lead a peaceful life. He also highlighted the philosophy of non-violence of Mahatma Gandhi and its importance in leading a progressed and prosperous life.

Divisional Commissioner stressed upon promotion of national integration and equitable development of all sections of the society. The cleanliness of self and surroundings is of paramount value which was exercised by Mahatma Gandhi, he added.        He also threw light on Mahatma Gandhi’s contribution towards bringing peace and non-violence to this world.  He exhorted upon all to imbibe the principles of great legends like Gandhiji so that our lives leave an indelible mark in the society to inspire others.

“Gandhism is based on two tools, truth and non-violence, which the present society has to adopt completely to bring out the world from uncertainty and self destruction”, the Div Com asserted.

President J&K Gandhi Global Familty, Padmashri S.P.Varma emphasized the philosophy of Mahatma Gandhi and stressed that the message of Mahatma Gandhi has become more relevant with every passing day. He appreciated all the partner academic institutions, local NGOs and the State authority in supporting such events where the sole purpose of the program is to reach the future generation and make them aware with the values and ideals of Mahatma Gandhi.

On the occasion, the artists of Information department presented bhajans . Besides, messages of dignitaries were also read on the occasion.

On the occasion, the participants took pledge of maintaining peace, harmony and brotherhood besides contributing in making India a clean and health nation.

Director School Education, S.Ravinder Singh, Director RKJ, Kumari Anjali Sharma, Executive Director Mubarak Mandi Heritage Society, Sham Lal, Gandhians, NGOs, educationists besides other prominent citizens were also present in the function.
