Udhampur : Deputy Commissioner Udhampur Ananth Dwivedi Monday chaired a meeting to review the functioning of the School Education Department in the district, with a focus on academic performance, learning outcomes, teacher availability, school infrastructure and implementation of government schemes.

At the outset, the Chief Education Officer gave a detailed PowerPoint presentation highlighting the district’s educational profile and the academic and developmental initiatives undertaken by the department.

The DC conducted a detailed review of Pre-Matric and Post-Matric Scholarship schemes, PM POSHAN, Samagra Shiksha, functioning of PM SHRI schools and ICT Labs, besides the status of KGBVs and girls’ hostels.

During the meeting, the DC laid special emphasis on strengthening basic school infrastructure, emphasising that quality education is directly linked to the availability of adequate physical facilities and a conducive learning environment.

He directed the Zonal Education Officers to conduct regular  inspection of schools under their respective jurisdictions to monitor academic activities, assess infrastructure requirements and ensure effective implementation of departmental schemes.
