Pulwama:A trader was penalized by Legal Metrology unit of Pulwama for tampering with the manufactured date on the edible oil packages following a complaint against the trader .
A team of the Department under the supervision of Assistant Controller raided the premises of the dealer and imposed a penal sum of Rs 5000 on him. The team also conducted the inspection of Khrew, Wuyan, Parigam, and Arihal markets and booked a number of traders for violations.
Two bran dealers were penalized Rs 5000 each for keeping the underweight packs, while as a rice dealer was fined Rs 7000 for selling underweight rice packs.
