HM Challenges Rahul Gandhi to Special Session Discussion
Says “No Place for Infiltrators in Electoral Rolls”
New Delhi | Nov, 02: Reiterating the Union Government’s commitment to eliminate terrorism from the country, Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Monday declared that the administration is working on a comprehensive plan to make India ‘drug-free’ by December 31, 2029.
Addressing a public gathering in Hyderabad, Telangana, officials said Home Minister Shah highlighted the nation’s counter-terrorism measures. “Prime Minister Narendra Modi had promised to eliminate terrorism and he has fulfilled it. The government acted against terrorism through surgical strikes, airstrikes and Operation Sindoor,” he stated.
Targeting Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy, the Home Minister accused him of turning the state into an “ATM” for Congress leaders in Delhi and alleged that the six guarantees promised by Rahul Gandhi remained unfulfilled.
Challenging Congress leader Rahul Gandhi to participate in a special session of Parliament, Shah alleged that the opposition was deliberately disrupting parliamentary proceedings. “Parliament’s responsibilities are discharged through the country’s Constitution, but Rahul ji does not allow Parliament to function. We are ready to convene a special session. Come and participate in a discussion,” Shah said.
Taking a swipe at Gandhi over his criticism of the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls, Shah noted that the BJP won the 2014 and 2019 Lok Sabha elections without any such exercise, citing recent victories in Maharashtra, Haryana, Delhi, and Bihar.
Reinforcing the party’s stance on illegal immigration, Shah affirmed that the BJP would ensure every infiltrator is removed from the electoral rolls. Paying tribute to Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, he noted that Hyderabad would not have integrated into India without Patel forcing the Nizam’s surrender, while accusing opposition parties of failing to address state corruption.
