Kulgam  /April, 4: Launching scathing attack on National Conference, Peoples Democratic Party leader and Minister for Food, Civil Supplies & Consumer Affairs Chowdhary Zulfkar Ali has said that the Kashmir is an issue only because of National Conference and the party is responsible for turmoil in Kashmir.

Addressing gathering at Nandimarg in Nooraabad Kulgam of Valley, Chowdhary Zulfkar Ali said that past of National Conference has not been forgotten by the people and it is why the graph of party popularly has decreased drastically. The Minister said that the Party was single largest when the Jammu & Kashmir was partioned between India and Pakistan. He said that it would have been no issue if resolved in 1947 itself. He said that the issue of Kashmir is ‘Made by NC’. ‘The alone party could have resolved it permanently but they choose Power and put the people of Jammu & Kashmir in lurch’, he said terming National Conference fully responsible for issue in Kashmir.

Accusing NC-Congress for adopting wrong policies during 1987-89, Chowdhary Zulfkar Ali said that Yousaf Shah would have been representing Kashmir people in Assembly but he become Hizbul Mujahideen Chief Syed Salahudin only because of rigging in elections and the same resulted in armed struggle in the state. ‘I believe that NC-Congress both are responsible for this gun culture and turmoil in Kashmir. He said that this turmoil resulted in the killing of many people. ‘’they preferred power all time and ignored the interests of the people of the state’, he said adding that people will not forget the past policies of NC and Congress and they will teach them lesson.

Lauding the role of Mufti Mohammad Sayeed in the state, Chowdhary Zulfkar Ali said that when the state was in turmoil and nobody was ready to talk to civil people, Mufti Mohammad Sayeed raised the voice for Kashmir which forced BJP leader Atal Bihari Vajpayee to shake hands with Nawaz Sharief of Pakistan. ‘This was a drastic shift in the internal situation of Kashmir rather I will call it a turning point of Kashmir’ , he said adding that Mufti created an atmosphere of peace and dignity in the state. ‘People were forced to raise hands for many kilometers by the security forces, they were killed tortured and manhandled by the gunmen but Mufti provided them relief which cannot be ignored’’, he added. Appealing people to vote for Peoples Democratic Party, Chowdhary Zulfkare Ali said that Tasadduq Mufti is inhering the ideology of Mufti Mohammad Sayeed and he also want to work for peace and dignity for people. He said that people should remember the days when National Conference and Congress created trouble for them and they should also not forget the days when Mufti Mohammad Sayeed provided them independence atmosphere to live in the state without terror of gun and gunmen.
